Meghan Markle's 'Close' Assistant Private Secretary Resigns | Meghan Markle

After leaving her position as Meghan's assistant private secretary, Pickerill plans to move overseas, PEOPLE confirms.

Pickerill's departure follows the resignation of Samantha Cohen, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's private secretary.

During the International Women's Day event, Markle also spoke about feminism, sharing that whether her and Prince Harry's bundle of joy is a boy or girl, the royal couple hopes to raise a feminist.

Everything is changing at Kensington Palace.

"Amy is leaving", a royal source told the Mail.

Amy first started her career at Kensington Palace as a press spokesperson and was "instrumental in helping the duchess adjust to her new life in the United Kingdom", the source shared before adding, "they have worked together for a while now and are close".

"They will stay in touch and Amy will remain as a personal adviser to her in the longer term". Chatting about everything from women's empowerment to Prince Harry and Meghan's future royal baby and the importance of education, the conversation highlighted how important it is to support women. "She has many loyal aides that enjoy working with her and are impressed by her commitment to humanitarian initiatives and her openness to learning from seasoned courtiers and Palace staff about royal protocol". "She played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household".

In another first for the royal family, however, the Duchess of Sussex last week spoke out about "period poverty", referring to girls in the United Kingdom and the rest of the world who are forced to miss school because they can not afford to buy sanitary products. "We have a responsibility as well, that if you're part of social media and engaging in that way, we're not just giving people more things to chat about but actually something to do".

Looking stunning in a Reiss dress and Alexander McQueen blazer, the duchess even had something to say about her pregnancy, commenting it was going "very well".
