'Leaving Neverland' Paints a Darker, Disturbing Portrait of Michael Jackson

'Leaving Neverland' Paints a Darker, Disturbing Portrait of Michael Jackson

It does, however, raise questions about the two mothers who allowed their children to sleep with a grown man.

"I loved Michael and all the times that I testified and many, many times that I gushed over him publicly in interviews or whatever it may be, um, that was from a real place, you know", he told Oprah.

"And when I changed the subject to business his voice dropped several octaves and became a completely different person to talk to".

The allegations have sent shockwaves, but now Michael's nephew Taj Jackson is claiming Robson is merely bitter after missing out on a role in the Michael Jackson: ONE show.

"It's four hours because it's the history of two families over 20 years", Reed explained. "Bearing witness" is not something you can do without actually, you know, doing it.

The two-part documentary explores the separate but parallel experiences of two young boys, James "Jimmy" Safechuck, at age ten, and Wade Robson, at age seven, both of whom were befriended by Michael Jackson. "They just don't care".

The validity of the documentary's stories hardly seems worth debating.

"Leaving Neverland" is yet to air in the United Kingdom or Australia but early reports portray a revolting life of continuous child abuse, with victims Wade Robson and James Safechuck (now 36 and 40) making allegations that they were groomed by Jackson from age 7 and sexually assaulted by the star through to the age of 14.

"That's a profoundly tone-deaf response to allegations of sexual abuse", user @tedgesing wrote.

"He set it up like I'm going to show you something that everybody does and you'll enjoy it", he said.

"And I think that would all feel very wrong now". We'll still be listening to "Billie Jean" at weddings for decades to come, I'm certain, although "P.Y.T." should probably be relegated to the dumpster-fires of time.

When the highly-anticipated doc finally premiered, many fans on Twitter stepped in to defend Jackson.

The Goonies actor claimed to have a tape of a conversation with Jackson and said he's considering releasing it to "give people a look at what a 30-year-old man/child & a 13-year-old boy would discuss, so everyone could hear the innocence of our relationship". "We are extremely sympathetic to any legitimate victim of child abuse".
