Peyton Manning recommended Adam Gase to Jets

The Jets have finally picked their new head honcho.

Adam Gase is the Jets' choice to be their next head coach, but did they strongly consider Baylor's Matt Rhule, according to multiple reports.

Cimini added the 21-year-old Darnold did not "impose his opinion" on the team's front office, including GM Mike Maccagnan, but Gase's work with past quarterbacks, including Peyton Manning, helps speak for itself.

Must media types are praising the move. Gase coached the Dolphins to a losing record in his three seasons in South Beach - overseeing an offense that ranked 30th in scoring this past season.

Predictably, social media has exploded and is going to share of a number of those posts with our readers.

Gase, 40, has a reputation as a quarterback guru. The latter two were about as opposite in style as two quarterbacks can be, and in 2015 Cutler had the best passer rating (92.3) and one of the best interception rates of his career (2.3 percent) with Gase as Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator. Romo feels that Gase is the right man for the Jets as well.

Romo said he's been impressed by Darnold.

Williams was let go from the Browns on Wednesday when the team announced Freddie Kitchens would be the new head coach. Gase's first National Football League job came in 2003 under Steve Mariucci in Detroit, where he worked his way up to quarterbacks coach in five years with the Lions. I think he's going to make a huge leap next year.

Darnold realizes that part of Gase's resume, and he doesn't see why he can't be added to it as well.

"I think he has a great mind for offensive football". He was sacked with four games left in the 2018 season after a lost to the Cardinals at Lambeau Field resulted in a record of 4-7-1.
