Kliff Kingsbury to become head coach of Arizona Cardinals

It was reported earlier that the Jets had interest in interviewing Kingsbury as a possible replacement for Todd Bowles.

The Cardinals fired Steve Wilks after he spent just one season as head coach.

The Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets are both interested in the former Texas Tech head coach who was sacked at the end of the season before he was scooped up by USC. However, he was the offensive coordinator for Johnny Manziel's Texas A&M run.

"I was thankful for the opportunity to meet with Green Bay; it always gives you greater insight into another organization of how they do things", he said. He was a modest 35-40 in his six seasons as a head coach and fired after this past season going 5-7. He coached quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who threw an NFL-best 50 passing touchdowns for the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2018 regular season and is the favorite to win the 2018 NFL MVP award. Rosen's first season with the Cardinals couldn't have gone much worse. He once was a backup in NY, completing a 17-yard pass on his only attempt. However, when everything was said and done, McDaniels made a decision to back out of the deal that was agreed to in order to remain the offensive coordinator for the Patriots. It's hard to blame Rosen for all of his issues when he was seldom placed in a situation to succeed. And his priority in Arizona will be to get the most out of Rosen.

Following the conclusion of the National Football League regular season, the Cardinals and New York Jets had expressed interest in hiring Kingsbury for their head-coaching vacancies.

The NFC West, by the way, suddenly features the following four coaches (ages in parentheses): Kingsbury (39), Sean McVay (32), Kyle Shahahan (39), and Pete Carroll (67).
