Hudson-Odoi coy over Bayern speculation Read Chelsea • By Alex Turk

Paul Merson has warned Chelsea FC starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi to resist a tempting move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Hudson-Odoi has been offered a new contract to try and fend off interest from Bayern and started the League Cup semi-final clash with Tottenham at Wembley last night.

Bayern have now made an improved bid of £35 million - which matches Chelsea's asking price, according to Sky Sports.

The Ligue 1 club, now being coached by Fabregas' former Arsenal team mate Thierry Henry, are apparently not willing to pay what Chelsea are asking for a player whose contract ends in June this year. I have seen him every day in training, he has been very normal.

"But when you're getting wanted by the manager to stay at the club, and the manager at your current club doesn't have a say on the future, I just find it absolutely baffling".

The report indicates that Hudson-Odoi's representatives have already held talks with Juve, though the Wandsworth-born ace would prefer to join the German champions if he is given the choice.

Chelsea have been trying to convince the youngster - who has 18 months left on his contract - to sign a new deal to stay in West London, although it seems his heart is set on move to Bavaria. "Of course we have very important players in the same position, so you want Willian on the bench I think?"

The 18-year-old appears to be breaking into Chelsea's first team, after making appearances in the Europa League, and more recently in the Premier League and FA Cup. Very good defensive phase, but very good'. I can start to consider him on the same level.

But after Chelsea announced the signing of Christian Pulisic last week, chances for Hudson-Odoi to make an impact in the first team next season are likely to be limited.
