Arsenal may seek loan deals in January, says Emery

He said: "We can not sign permanently".

Arsenal have already been tipped to pursue the services of Denis Suarez from Barcelona but they are experiencing a similar predicament with the Spanish club wanting a straight-cash deal for the Spaniard.

"We can not sign anyone permanently".

According to Goal, Suarez has been "convinced" by Emery, who was in charge at Sevilla when the player enjoyed a successful loan spell there during the 2014/15 season.

December saw Arsenal's campaign being severely disrupted by injuries to key defensive personnel, But, Unai Emery can heave a sigh of relief after six first-team players returned to full training this week.

Emery spent £70m on transfers last summer, signing Lucas Torreira and Bernd Leno on permanent deals, but said he will not be able to spend in the transfer window this month.

" I don't know his situation now".

The Arsenal boss was also non-committal when asked about the future of Aaron Ramsey who is expected to sign a pre-contract agreement with Juventus.

Arsenal, however, are looking for a loan deal for the player and Emery has revealed that the Gunners can not afford to pay for any transfer fees and are looking for a loan deal.

It's a frustrating situation for Arsenal fans and it must be for Unai Emery too.

'We are working, and also thinking and speaking with our performance [analyst] Darren [Burgess] and Julen Masach [strength and conditioning coach], for this week and this month.

"But I am happy with every player today, it is really some injuries that didn't help us in the last matches because we struggled with different injuries with the players".

"I asked at Blackpool if he was OK to help us play and he said: "Yeah, coach, I want to play" and he played with a very big behaviour and commitment to us".

Paul Merson is tipping Arsenal to drop points at West Ham on Saturday afternoon.
