This price may go down to $1000 Dollars once Foxconn starts making iPhones in India.

According to one source that spoke with Reuters, Foxconn will be assembling the most expensive models - the iPhone X family.

Furthermore, the report suggests that Foxconn would invest $356 Million to expand the current manufacturing plant that includes investment in iPhone productions as well. Moreover, the source also claimed that Foxconn is planning to assemble iPhones in India. The U.S. and China are at odds over trade and there has been some suggestion that if a full-blown trade war between the countries erupts, tariffs on iPhones could drive Apple's prices up significantly.

The Hindu newspaper first reported on December 24 that the Foxconn plant would begin manufacturing various models of the iPhone.

Apple launched the pricey iPhone X last year, but has cut production of that phone since it began selling the newer versions, iPhone XS and XR, globally this year, industry analysts have said. But within the product mix that it has got now, with the high-end iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XS, the third, the iPhone XR, appears to be doing well.

According to a survey conducted in the United States by the Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), more smartphone users switched from Android ecosystem to the iOS this year than past two years.

A survey of 165 USA consumers sampled over the first 30 days of availability shows that the iPhone XR took 32 percent of total iPhone sales.

Full details of Apple's deal with Foxconn are not yet clear and could change.

No doubt, Apple is seeing a decline in its overall sales volumes across the world.

Apple now relies on Foxconn, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer with factories in China, Brazil, Malaysia and other countries around the world, to assemble its iPhone devices.
