First 100 Cr Hindi Film for Rajinikanth

On the first day, "2.0" grossed around Rs 84 crores worldwide at the box office.

After a low Friday collection, the Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar-starrer 2.0 is back in the game. Rajinikanth has a double role in the film, which marks the return of Dr Vaseegaran and the robot named Chitti from the 2010 film Enthiran (Robot in Hindi). Directed by Shankar, 2.0 has been widely appreciated and accepted by the audiences. This is not the first time when Amy shared a big screen with Akshay as they both have worked together in 2015 movie Singh Is Bliing. "He wrote, "#2Point0 remained strong on Day 2. As of now, the total collection of the Hindi version of the film in two days stands at Rs 38.25 crore. In TN as a whole, the film has grossed close to 18 CR which is Rajini's 2nd best opener in the state below Kabali, but Shankar's career best. Being a Saturday, the movie is expected to have done an awesome business with higher collections.




The movie is said to have toppled Vijay's Sarkar from the number one spot by earning a whopping Rs 2.64 crore in Chennai alone. The 3D movie was shot in India and has got some never-seen-before VFX. Reportedly, "2.0" happens to be the most expensive Indian film being made to date. On its second day, the film didn't witness a major drop in its numbers and continued to rule at the box office, according to reliable trade sources. The movie was released on November 29, Thursday, and received mixed reviews from the film critics. The film is anyways making money in the South languages and if Hindi version supports well too then recovery of the huge budget won't be an issue.
