Vorskla Poltava v Arsenal: Hosts throw doubt on Arsenal game going ahead

English-born Ghanaian kid Jordi Osei-Tutu is in Arsenal squad to face Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League on Thursday Evening.

Up to 500 Arsenal fans were expected to travel to the game in Poltava and had to make alternative arrangements to travel to the Ukraine capital.

It's not been plain sailing for Arsenal however, who won just two of those games (against Bournemouth and Vorskla) and drew three (against Liverpool, Wolves and Sporting Lisbon).

The Gunners didn't take long to open the scoring when Emile Smith Rowe seized upon a loose ball within 11 minutes. "We prefer for them to stay in London working for the next match on Sunday".

"Every cup we're in we want to win".

"Oleh Lysak, the Vorskla vice president, confirmed the match may not be played and said "'the Olympic Stadium hasn't given us any kind of confirmation or any other kind of answer" with the Ukraine club apparently attempting to switch the fixture back to the original venue.

Vorskla vice-president Oleh Lysak had expressed doubts on Wednesday about whether the Olympic Stadium would be able to host the game on such short notice.

It's easy to get carried away when a young player breaks in to the first team but Smith Rowe does look to be a real talent and a number of fans believe he's a "special" player who has a big future ahead of him.

"For us yesterday [Tuesday] we were preparing the first trip to Poltava and waiting in the evening for the last decision". But Emery has kept both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette at home - leaving 19-year-old Eddie Nketiah as his main strike option.

"I'm very pleased to be here and I have a lot of good memories from time with Shakhtar", the midfielder said.

"We were ready to play in Poltava; we are ready to play in Kiev".
