Facebook and Instagram are reportedly down right now

"Tried logging in via three different computers and 4 different browsers all with the same result", one Facebook user wrote.

According to Downdetector.com, Facebook and Instagram users began reporting issues with the site around 8 a.m.

Facebook acknowledged their mistake and apologised to the users. And the parent company behind the "Facebook family of apps" is confirming certain users' trouble accessing the social networking applications as of late Tuesday morning.

The outage comes as Facebook's stock price continues to slide. Luckily, if you've been anxious to see how the feature works, you won't have to wait too long now because Facebook is now rolling out "Your Time on Facebook" globally, TechCrunch reports. "We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible". As mentioned, the feature is already available, and you can access and activate it via Facebook's Settings & Privacy section.

It was the second instance in the past two weeks in which technical issues appeared to affect access to Facebook.

Now it's rumoured to be introducing its own dark mode to Facebook Messenger which will change your experience by changing the window from white to black.
