Synagogue killer posted anti-Semitic messages on social media

One has been discharged, one is due to be, and the other two "need more doing to them" Pennsylvania police confirmed.

Andy Cohen took a moment on Sunday's "Watch What Happens Live" to address the deadliest anti-Semitic attack in United States history, which took place Saturday when a man opened fire in a busy Pittsburgh synagogue, killing 11 people and injuring six others.

OTTAWA-Several Canadian politicians have offered their sympathies following a mass shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemning the attack as anti-Semitic.

"HIAS likes to bring invaders in that kill our people. Screw your optics, I'm going in", he wrote.

HIAS is the acronym for the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. Other well known users have included controversial media personalities Alex Jones and Carl Benjamin.

HIAS had recently weighed in on the migrant caravan heading toward the US from Central America, urging the Trump administration to "provide all asylum seekers the opportunity to present their claims as required by law and treat all migrants fairly and humanely". MAGA refers to Trump's campaign slogan, Make America Great Again. He was an active member of Gab, the social media site that has become popular with white nationalists, where his posts hinted at the massacre to come.

Trump, who labelled the shooting an "evil antisemitic attack", has said he will visit but a trip has not yet been confirmed. Brady said, "A hate crime is where an individual is animated by a hatred or a certain animus towards a person of a certain ethnicity or religious faith, and it becomes domestic terrorism, where there is an ideology that that person is trying to propagate through violence".

"So we were reading the same story they were reading - and strikingly, it was a story about welcoming the stranger", Moskovitz said. After the attack, he told an officer, "I just want to kill Jews", according to a federal affidavit.

He was reportedly a truck driver, living in a flat in Baldwin, a suburb of Pittsburgh.

In the city, thousands gathered for a vigil Saturday night.

"We'll get through this darkest day of Pittsburgh history by working together", the city's mayor, Bill Peduto, told reporters.

He kept to himself, and neighbours never saw him with visitors. "All Jews must die", he was heard saying as he opened fire.

However, a rabbi-emeritus at the synagogue, Alvin Berkun, said guards - while used during the major Jewish holy days - were not on duty Saturday.

He was given a traffic citation in 2015 for operating a vehicle without registration plates, and was subject to a debt claim by Colonial Credit Corporation for $2,065 in 2005. He also professed his love for his "family" of Glock pistols in a post on Gab, where he outlined their technical characteristics.

Police said the suspect had three handguns and an assault-style rife at the shooting.

"The final seven counts are based on the harm inflicted by Bowers, upon the fearless police officers, who in trying to stop Bowers rampage, put their own lives in danger". Officials said he had been operated on, and was in a stable condition.

"I'm feeling so vulnerable for any community that is feeling marginalized right now my community that is allowed to be demonized so people are given permission we are not sure about this motivation, but the hate is growing because the hate speech is being permitted", said Rabbi Susan Talve. "I can't believe he did that".
