Amazon introduces Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote in India

Amazon introduces Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote in India

Neither the Cube nor the original Fire TV 4K supports Dolby Vision HDR, either. It will be available for pre-order starting today, 3 October for $50 in the USA, £50 in the UK. The Alexa Voice Remote includes "multidirectional infrared technology" to ensure it will work with any auxiliary devices, as well as your TV.

Simply called the Fire TV Stick 4K, it features a new quad-core processor and redesigned antenna, which Amazon said will allow it to stream Ultra HD content despite any congestion.

It will begin shipping on October 31 in the USA and Canada. "We have sold through the earlier Fire TV 4K edition inventory and we do not plan to replenish supply at this time", a spokesperson told Variety Tuesday. Amazon noted that in-app Alexa control is coming to a number of more specialized video services, including AMC, HBO Now and Sony Crackle. But sadly, it won't be available for purchase until November 14.

However, Amazon has taken the wraps off a new Fire TV Stick 4K to complete its holiday device refresh, which introduces physical power, volume, and mute buttons so you can control compatible TV and soundbars with a single remote.

Moving onto the all-new Alexa Voice Remote, it helps existing Fire TV customers control all their entertainment by just asking Alexa. "And it obviously brings the 4K capability to streaming on a stick form factor", Parag Gupta, Head, Product and Marketing, Amazon India told India Today Tech.

If you're more interested in the new Alexa Voice Remote it comes with, though, it's available alone for $29.99, or with the Fire TV Cube for $119.99. To coincide with the launch of the new Alexa Voice Remote, Amazon has added the ability to search for specific types of content using voice commands.
