Jürgen Klopp responds to Gary Neville

Kane fired 30 goals in the Premier League last season before claiming the World Cup Golden Boot as England reached the semi-finals of Russian Federation 2018.

The former Manchester United skipper's advice has been a big talking point, with Klopp himself dismissing the generous advice. We played possession football, but not to the same extent as Klopp's Liverpool.

Quizzed on Neville's comments during a press conference on Friday, Klopp said: "How should that work?"

"I don't know exactly what it means but to focus on one competition can only be if maybe you are already out of the competition almost".

"Playing Champions League football is why you can attract the likes of Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah and all the other players you want to name, Allison in between the sticks". That would be amusing!

'I don't know what he means with that, to be honest.

Speaking to The Times, Neville had said: "The Champions League - if I was Liverpool, I would kick it into touch".

"That's what we try".

"To focus on one competition can only be if you are already out, or almost out, or if it's late in the season. There may be a chance this weekend but we will see according to the progress of the week".

"Last year I don't think even think Gary would have said "Let City win in the Champions League".

"It doesn't work like this".

"But it's an opinion".

34-year-old Vorm has accumulated only 44 appearances in his four years at the north London club, many of which have come in domestic cup competitions.

Klopp also moved to quieten the uncertainty over summer signing Fabinho.

And former Manchester United defender Neville feels that Liverpool FC would be wise to focus on trying to win the Premier League this season and prioritise it ahead of the Champions League.

"I think it's so clear, not only in his case, in all the players that have different situations, we are so clear, the club is so clear, when something happens we are going to communicate the news as soon as possible".

"The thing is it is absolutely no problem".
