Donald Trump Rips Nike For Colin Kaepernick ‘Just Do It’ Ad Campaign

In his closing remarks at the NY fashion show where he revealed his latest shoe, National Basketball Association superstar LeBron James said in reference to the 30th anniversary "Just Do It" ad campaign built around ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, "I stand with Nike, all day, every day", according to the Associated Press.

If Nike chooses to create an ad campaign featuring a former quarterback who describes cops as "pigs" and makes large donations to the family of a convicted cop killer and wanted fugitive, Joanne Chesimard, who murdered New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster in cold blood in 1973, they are free to do so.

"Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything #JustDoIt".

"I think what Nike did was a tremendous step in fighting against the people who misunderstand the protests by Kaep and players", said Seth Buchwalter, of Portland, Oregon, a lifelong Nike customer.

Kaepernick posted a black-and-white close-up of himself on Instagram and Twitter on Monday featuring the Nike logo and "Just do it" slogan along with the quote, "Believe in something". Kaepernick became the face of anthem protests over police brutality, racial inequality and other social issues in the US two years ago. I wonder if they had any idea that it would be this way? Nike is one of the world's largest sports apparel companies, with $34.5 billion in revenue a year ago.

The Colin Kaepernick story has taken a predictably wrong turn into a wrangle over whether people should wear Nike trainers or set fire to them in the backyard.

One of the big questions as it pertains to Nike and Kaepernick is how the brand would handle things with the National Football League, and whether it would air ads during National Football League games. Just try to be the best that I can be.

"We embrace the role and responsibility of everyone involved with this game to promote meaningful, positive change in our communities", said Jocelyn Moore, the NFL's executive vice-president of communications and public affairs.

The ad could ultimately alienate customers and turn them to rivals' products - which is not the goal of a marketing campaign, Saunders said.

The NFL released a statement Tuesday saying the issues raised by Kaepernick "deserve our attention and action".

"My guess is that the audience that is reacting so badly to this aren't buying a lot of Nikes anyway", he said. "They could've turned a dead eye to it", Stone said. "We work with the most vulnerable children in the community".
