At the time, we believed it might have something to do with Captain Marvel reshoots, since we know for a fact Jackson is in that-but, obviously, now we know that's not the case.
Vulture reports Jackson will be joined by Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill in the sequel to 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Two more Marvel stars just got stuck in the Spider-Man: Far From Home web.
The Avengers: Infinity War post-credit scene featured both Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders' characters turning to dust as a result of Thanos destroying half the universe, but prior to meeting their maker, Nick Fury managed to send out a distress call to Captain Marvel. With Spider-Man: "Far From Home, it will also mark Jackson and Smulders" first interactions with Spider-Man, as he came on board after we last saw the pair...not including their cameos in Infinity War.
Warning: I haven't written it yet, but this post will probably contain spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War. The film will see Peter Parker leave NY, heading to London in a film that will reflect the global aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. Certainly a hint that Avengers 4 will change the course of the narrative. Get ready for SpiderMan to meet Nick Fury and Maria Hill. While many were hoping to see the new leader of the Marvel Universe, fans will have to wait until her standalone film comes out in March in all of its 90s-tinged glory.
The film has a July 5, 2019 release directed by Jon Watts also starring Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, with Jake Gyllenhaal said to play the villain Mysterio, and Michael Keaton back as Vulture.
Two familiar names have been added to the Spider-Man: Far From Home roster, potentially revealing some interesting clues about the aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War.
