Walmart Facing Boycott Threats Over 'Impeach 45' Shirt

Fournier's message soon went viral, leading to angry consumers threatening to boycott the company.

As of early Tuesday morning, the "Impeach 45" clothing was still available on Walmart's website.

United States retail giant Walmart has come under fire after angry shoppers spotted a T-shirt range being sold on its third-party website calling for Donald Trump to be impeached. There's also mens and juniors shirts that read "45 You're Fired", using Trump's facing line from his former show "The Apprentice". But the news outlet adds that a search on revealed that three other companies also sell clothing that promotes impeaching Trump.

Many are calling for a boycott of the giant retailer on Twitter with the hashtag #BoycottWalmart, reports Fox News.

"These items were sold by third party sellers on our open marketplace, and were not offered directly by Walmart", a spokesperson said.

Walmart has not commented on the merchandise.

It's not the first time Walmart has caused a stir.

After complaints, custom shirt company Teespring removed the shirt from the site.

Walmart's Marketplace has given the company headaches over which items to permit.

As some noted, though, the choice of items on Walmart's website doesn't betray any clear political bias; the retailer sells plenty of pro-Trump merchandise and it sells merchandise that opposes Hillary Clinton, as well. It pulled merchandise branded with "Bulletproof - Black Lives Matter" after complaints from the National Fraternal Order of Police, and past year it removed T-shirts emblazoned with "Rope".
